TV star Sarah Beeny has revealed she has breast cancer.

The property expert and mum-of-four is currently undergoing chemotherapy for the condition and will undergo a mastectomy in the New year.

Sarah Beeny has been diagnosed with breast cancer

Announcing her diagnosis in an interview with the Telegraph, she credited her family with helping her through the difficult time.

She said: “I’m lucky because I live in a family where we all talk.”

Sarah, 50, has been told she has an 80 per cent change of beating the illness and promised her four boys she won’t hide details of her illness from them.

She said: “They just said, ‘You will be honest?’ and I said, ‘I promise you that I’m going to be around for a jolly long time yet. It’s going to be a bit difficult. But I promise I won’t lie.’ And I think they were OK once I said that.”

The star’s mum Ann died from the condition aged 39 when Sarah was just 10 and she admitted she has “waited 40 years to hear those words”.

In a past interview with the Mail, Sarah said of her loss: “The only positive thing about losing her when I was so young is that, to me, she’ll always be entirely perfect.”

Today Sarah, who has fronted shows including Help! My House Is Falling Down and Sarah Beeny’s New Life In The Country, shared a picture of her shorter hairdo after her boys Billy, 18, Charlie, 16, Rafferty, 14, and Laurie, 12, helped cut it ahead of her treatment.

She is donating her cuttings to the Little Princess Trust.

Fans sent her their support in droves.
