TIKTOK has become a place where many beauty trends take off – and a big one recently is eyebrow lamination.

Eyebrow lamination involves the “perming” of eyebrow hairs to provide a fuller, more even look.

Beauty fan Carla took to TikTok to show off her horrific allergic reaction to an eyebrow tint and laminationTiktok/@honestasfcarla

After having seen a stream of fellow beauty lovers getting their brows laminated, TikTok user ‘Honestasfcarla’ decided to give the viral trend a go.

But Carla was horrified when she had an allergic reaction to the treatment, and was left with not only scabbing, weeping and red eyebrows, but a very swollen face too.

Carla took to social media to share her eyebrow lamination reaction and to warn other beauty fans of the importance of having a patch test prior to any treatment.

She explained that as a result of the incident and the horror reaction, she thinks her “salon treatment days are over”.

My hairdresser gave me the worst cut of my life…I can’t stop crying, it’s awful

I got 7ml of lip filler injected…they were like Richmond sausages & then SPLIT

Carla said: “This is what happens when you have an allergic reaction to brow tint and lamination.”

In the video, Carla shows off the damage done to her eyebrows – the actual eyebrows look fine (even though they appear to be weeping), but it’s the damage around the eyebrows that is most shocking.

They are extremely red, rashy and bumpy and look highly irritated.

In a follow-up video, Carla showed off the extent of the reaction, five days after having the procedure done.

She uploaded the video with the caption ‘Day 5 of my allergic reaction to brow tint and lamination….get a patch test guys!!!!!’

Carla explained: “So this is my good side, and this is my bad side.

“So I had a brow lamination and tint on Friday and this is the result.

“If I could cry I would, I can’t lift my eyebrows, I can’t frown, I can barely open this eye.

“It’s all crusting and it’s all swelling and it’s weeping.

“I’m on very strong antihistamines and as you can see, it’s not taking the swelling down.

“I feel quite sick and poorly with it, safe to say this has been the worst month of my life.

“I think it’s the end of beauty treatments for me.

“I can’t go out, I can’t go to work, I can’t drive.

“I should have known because I react quite badly to certain treatments.

“If anyone is thinking of having it done, make sure you have a patch test and really, really listen to your body, listen to your skin, because I didn’t think this was going to happen.”

Carla’s video has clearly shocked many, as it has racked up a whopping 332.4k views.

It has 4,447 likes, 604 comments and 616 shares.

TikTok users were stunned at Carla’s reaction and took to the comments to express this.

One person said: “I’m so sorry this happened to you! I won’t perform a treatment without a patch test.”

Another added: “Poor girl that’s awful, hope you recover fast and well.”

A third commented: “That looks painful, I hope you have a speedy recovery.”

Many other beauty fans also tried to reassure Carla that she was not alone, by sharing similar experiences.

One user revealed: “I was patch tested for HD brows and still reacted this exact same way!! Patch testing didn’t mean a thing for me. Feel for you, it hurts.”

A second stated: “This happened to me, whatever you do, do not pick at it or get it wet. It needs to be treated the same as burn injuries as that’s what it is.”

Someone else claimed: “I’ve had this reaction to a henna tattoo and hydrocortisone from a chemist helps! Hope you’re better soon.
