WHILE you may know your star sign off the top of your head, you may not know what animal you are in the Chinese Zodiac.
Repeating every 12 years, the animal cycle includes the Rat, the Ox, the Tiger, the Rabbit, the Dragon, the Snake, the Horse, the Goat, the Monkey, the Rooster, the Dog and the Pig.

Each of those can then be split into five elements – Earth, Wood, Fire, Metal and Water.
So what exactly is the ‘Wood Tiger’ zodiac sign and what does it represent?
What year is the Wood Tiger?
The years of the Wood Tiger are 1914 and 1974.
This is because the year of the Tiger only comes around once every 12 years, and every rotation works its way through the five elements.
This means there’s a 60-year gap between Wood Tiger years, and the next one will be in 2034.
The Tiger is the third animal in the Chinese Zodiac, the 12-year cycle of animals constituting part of the Chinese calendar system.
The Tiger is usually associated with the early hours, between three and five am.

Characteristics and personality traits of the Wood Tiger
According to Feng Shui Web, Wood Tigers are good-natured and sociable.
They said: “The Wood Tiger is very friendly and pleasant towards everyone around them.
“They are less self-sufficient than some of the other types of Tiger and are more prepared to work alongside to get the best results.”
Overall Tigers are charming, daring and aren’t afraid to take risks, often breaking the rules.
They’re strong-willed, enjoy rising to a challenge and refuse to be bound by convention – but they have a tendency to become easily distracted.

Types of Tiger
Each zodiac sign is associated with one of the five elements: Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water, and the Chinese New Year explain what this means for the Tiger.
Wood Tiger: This Tiger is honest and trustworthy, and as a result has little to worry about. Their children and grandchildren will make them very proud.
Metal Tiger: This Tiger has strong family values, and while they’ll go far in their careers they must learn not to become complacent. They’re able to live a stress-free life if they exercise some patience.
Water Tiger: This Tiger knows what they want and they go after it. They work hard and play hard – and marrying early isn’t advised. While their youth is turbulent, by middle age they’re usually stable.
Earth Tiger: These Tigers go from one extreme to the other, and can be warm and bubbly one minute then cold and standoffish the next. But they’re also fiercely intelligent, and good fortune should come their way.
Fire Tiger: Unlike the name, these Tigers aren’t fiery in nature. They enjoy learning and are usually cool, calm and composed.

Tigers are most compatible with Pig, Horse and Dog.
Out of all the animals, Pigs and Tigers get on the best, as they both see the other one as the most important, and they’re willing to make sacrifices if necessary.
Website Chinese New Year said: “They are able to be themselves in this relationship and similar goals make up for differences in personality.”
Meanwhile, Horses can easily attract the attention of a Tiger, and any relationship between the two animals involves mutual trust and respect.
But a Tiger will only show their gentle side to a Dog, and they encourage the canines to follow their dreams. The pair are well-suited to weathering life’s troubles together.
Tigers are least compatible with Monkey and Snake.
